App Content & Functionality Requirements

To launch your app successfully in major Chinese app stores such as Huawei AppGallery, Tencent MyApp Store, Vivo App Store, Oppo App Store, Xiaomi GetApps, your app must meet local content, functionality, and presentation standards. Below are the key requirements your app must fulfill before submission.


App Name, Icon, Description & Screenshots

  1. App name must be unique, distinctive, and not identical or overly similar to other apps to avoid user confusion and IP disputes.
  2. Do not use overly generic or broad terms (e.g. "Camera", "VPN", "Game") or popular keywords as your app name, to avoid misleading users or disrupting search results.
  3. App name must match the name shown within the app and across submission materials.
  4. App icons must not include white borders or visual elements that mislead or mimic system functions.
  5. Descriptions and screenshots must truthfully represent the app's core features and actual UI.
  6. Promotional text and visuals must not contain exaggerated claims or misleading marketing.

Functional Completeness

  1. The app must install, launch, and run without errors or incomplete functions.
  2. Core functions must be available and not show placeholders or "under construction" notices.
  3. Login, registration, and onboarding flows must be fully functional.
  4. If your app relies on specific hardware or local SIM cards, this must be clearly disclosed in the store description.

Compatibility with Chinese Android Ecosystem

  1. The app must work without relying on Google Mobile Services (GMS) or Google Service Framework (GSF).
  2. All content and UI must render properly on devices without the Google Play Store.
  3. If using Firebase, Google Maps, or similar services, ensure fallback solutions are provided for China.
  4. Your app must not contain links to any specific Android stores, such as Google Play Store, Huawei AppGallery, Xiaomi GetApps, Oppo App Store, or Vivo App Store. We suggest jumping to the app store with following URI.

Stability and Performance

  1. The app must be free from crashes, freezes, or abnormal exits during normal use.
  2. It should perform reliably on major Chinese brands (e.g. Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo).
  3. Ensure compatibility with Android 10 and above.

Content Compliance

  1. Content must not include pornography, violence, gambling, terrorism, or politically sensitive material.
  2. No religious proselytizing or ideological promotion is allowed.
  3. All geographic and political references must comply with Chinese regulations, including correct map data.
  4. Avoid any representation of Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macau as independent entities in content, maps, or menus.

Originality and Intellectual Property

  1. Your app must be original, both in function and appearance.
  2. Do not copy UI design, content, or features from other apps.
  3. Ensure your app name, logo, and content do not infringe on third-party IP to avoid takedowns or legal complaints.

Ad Behavior and Monetization

  1. Ads must be clearly marked, easy to close, and must not interfere with normal usage.
  2. No simulated system alerts, fake UI, or deceptive ad placements.
  3. Rewarded ads must provide real, verifiable benefits and be clearly optional.

Data Collection & Privacy Behavior

  1. Only request permissions necessary for core functionality.
  2. Obtain explicit user consent before collecting any personal or device information.
  3. Provide mechanisms for users to withdraw consent, delete accounts, and erase data.

Malicious or Risky Behavior

  1. Do not install or uninstall other apps without user permission.
  2. Avoid behavior that mimics or replaces system-level functions.
  3. Apps must not contain spyware, trojans, or hidden auto-downloading code.
