Akamai Image & Video Manager automatically optimizes, converts, and delivers responsive images and adaptive video streams at scale. It integrates with Akamai’s edge network to reduce image payloads and improve load times.

This service relies on Akamai China CDN which is shutting down by June 2026. Until then, optimization and delivery work via partner infrastructure. After shutdown, Chinese users will see degraded performance unless migrated to local optimization services or self-hosted solutions.
